Spare Me!
Spare Me! is a Chrome extension that automates repetitive form-filling by intelligently queueing and inserting user data. Built with JavaScript and the Chrome API, the extension has 10 active users and streamlines data entry across web forms.
The Problem
Filling out repetitive web forms with the same information wastes time and creates friction in everyday workflows. I identified this pain point through my own experience and conversations with students who regularly encounter application forms, surveys, and registration pages requiring identical information.
Technical Implementation
I built Spare Me! using JavaScript and HTML, leveraging the Chrome API to override copy-paste behavior and intelligently queue user-inputted data. The extension detects form fields and automatically fills them with the appropriate stored information, reducing a multi-step process to a single click.
Launch & Adoption
After shipping the extension, I onboarded 10 active users through direct outreach to students and professionals who frequently interact with web forms. User feedback has been positive, with requests for expanded field-type support and custom data templates informing the roadmap for future iterations.
