Crowdflow
Crowdflow analyzes student space utilization patterns on campus to help optimize shared study areas and social spaces. The project combines data collection, analysis, and visualization to provide actionable insights for campus planning.
Research Approach
I designed and executed a research study to understand how students use shared spaces across campus. This involved observational research, usage pattern tracking, and student interviews to identify peak hours, underutilized areas, and factors that influence space selection.
Data Analysis
Analyzing usage data across multiple campus locations, I identified patterns in student behavior related to time of day, day of week, and space characteristics. These insights revealed opportunities to better distribute students across available spaces and inform decisions about furniture, amenities, and space allocation.
Recommendations
I translated analysis findings into actionable recommendations for campus planning teams. These included strategies for redistributing furniture, adjusting hours of operation, and improving wayfinding to help students discover underutilized spaces that match their needs.
